Case Study

Evidence-based nutrition, made easy to find.

Home Dietitians (Home Dietitian Consultancy Sdn. Bhd.) is led by founder Jaceme Chuah, a registered clinical dietitian. The practice provides 1-on-1 consultations at its Oval Damansara clinic in Kuala Lumpur and online across Malaysia, covering Medical Nutrition Therapy and condition-specific nutrition — diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular health, weight management, elderly care and pregnancy — alongside corporate wellness and blood test interpretation.

The site also offers free calculators (BMI, TDEE, body fat, protein, water intake).

Total Web Solutions handled website design and SEO, with hosting managed by our team — part of our websites for healthcare and wellness practices.

The Challenge

Dietitian services sit in a noisy space full of fad diets and unqualified advice, and Home Dietitians’ evidence-based, anti-fad positioning — “nutrition is not one-size-fits-all” — needed a website that made the professional distinction obvious.

The practice also serves a genuinely broad audience: someone managing diabetes has very different questions from an expectant mother or a family arranging elderly nutrition care.

Like many specialist practices, the challenge was organising deep expertise into a structure where each visitor quickly finds the page that speaks to their situation — while a large volume of educational content, videos and free tools stays useful rather than overwhelming.

Our Strategy

We structured the site as a multi-level hub: About Us, condition-based Services, Nutrition Videos, Free Tools, a Nutrition Insights blog, Events and Contact. Condition-based service pages let visitors self-identify by health concern instead of decoding clinical terminology, and the free calculators were planned as genuine entry points — a visitor checking their BMI or TDEE is one gentle step from asking a real dietitian a real question.

Credibility was made structural: registered dietitian credentials, media features (BFM radio, TV and press) and an honest results disclaimer that reinforces rather than undermines trust. The clinic-plus-online model was communicated clearly so nationwide visitors know online consultation is a full option, not an afterthought.

Mobile-first layout and managed hosting by Total Web Solutions keep the content-heavy site fast and dependable as it grows.

Design Direction

The design reflects the brand’s professional, compassionate voice: clean and editorial rather than clinical, with generous space around educational content and a clear hierarchy that keeps a large site feeling navigable.

Trust elements — credentials, media features — are presented calmly as part of the page flow, matching a practice that persuades with evidence, not hype.

SEO & Content Structure

The site’s heading structure explicitly targets the practice’s core intent — registered dietitian and nutritionist in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — while condition-based service pages map to the way people actually search: by symptom, diagnosis or life stage.

The free calculators act as long-term link and traffic magnets, the Nutrition Insights blog captures informational queries, and internal links guide readers from education to the matching service page and booking prompt — service pages structured for search, applied to healthcare, with the same discipline as our SEO work in Kuala Lumpur.

FAQ content, clean metadata and LocalBusiness/MedicalBusiness schema round out the technical foundation, and the clinic’s Google Business Profile was optimised alongside the site for Klang Valley clinic searches. The structure supports better service communication and prepared the site for future SEO growth.

Conversion Flow

“Ask a Dietitian on WhatsApp” is the signature move — a prominent, low-pressure first step that suits a health decision people often hesitate over. It runs alongside “Book Consultation” prompts and a phone option, so warm visitors can commit while cautious ones can simply start a conversation.

Free tools quietly convert informational visitors into enquiries by putting the WhatsApp prompt one step from a moment of genuine personal insight. This built a clearer pathway for enquiries across a very varied audience.

The SEO record — checked 2 October 2026

What Google shows, and how to check it yourself

We would rather you check than take our word for it. Below is what Google showed, the date, and where it was checked from. Google shows two different kinds of result, so we keep them apart: the Maps listings at the top come from the clinic’s Google Business Profile, and the ordinary results below them come from the website.

The rank tracker reads Google Malaysia as a whole. Searching from inside Kuala Lumpur on 2 October, Google put the Maps listings first and showed the site outside the first twelve ordinary results, which is normal for a search with local intent. Rankings move week to week; we re-check every month and date every figure.

What we think moved it

For the Maps listing: the Google Business Profile work, with the clinic’s name, address, hours and services matching the website exactly. For the ordinary results: one page per condition and life stage, headings aimed at the way people search for a registered dietitian, and articles that link to the matching service page. Google does not publish its reasons, so this is our reading of the evidence, not a proof.

What comes next

Inside Kuala Lumpur the Maps listing does most of the work today, so the next job is the ordinary results there: more depth on the condition pages people search for most, and Nutrition Insights articles that answer their questions and point to the right service. Read how we approach this in local SEO in Malaysia and Google Business Profile for Malaysian businesses.
