Case Study

A modernised platform, not an inherited pile of plugin risk.

Double Good Enterprise is a beverage and F&B ingredients distributor based in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, supplying cafés and F&B businesses — and retail customers — with brands including Hibase, Simco, Monin and Roastability.

Founded in 2017, it now serves 3,000+ customers across Malaysia. Its WordPress site had built up years of plugins and add-ons behind the scenes — some of which turned out to be unlicensed copies of paid tools quietly sitting on a live commercial site.

Total Web Solutions migrated the site to a clean, modern foundation, removed the hidden security risks, fixed a real interlinking gap and preserved the original design end to end — website design for F&B & distribution businesses and SEO for F&B & distribution businesses.

The Challenge

A distribution business doesn’t need a flashy new look — it needs a site people, and search engines, can trust, running on software that isn’t quietly carrying hidden risk.

Double Good Enterprise’s site had built up years of plugins and add-ons behind the scenes — and some of them turned out to be unlicensed copies of paid tools, a real security risk hiding behind a site that looked perfectly normal on the surface.

On top of that, brand pages, all four blog posts and the About page had zero internal links between them, and one blog post was still sitting on an auto-generated /2247-2/ URL nobody would ever guess, share or rank for.

Our Strategy

We treated this as a rescue, not a rebuild from scratch: keep the design the client already trusted, strip out everything putting the site at risk, and rebuild the interactive pieces properly instead of leaning on more plugins.

The site now runs on a clean, modern foundation, with every visual detail — colours, fonts, spacing — carried over from the original so nothing looked different to visitors.

The Frozen-Content Migration

Preserving the exact look of the site didn’t mean rebuilding every page from scratch on day one. Each of Double Good Enterprise’s 11 pages was carefully carried over exactly as it looked before, so the site kept its familiar design even while the outdated software underneath was being replaced.

The genuinely interactive parts — photo galleries, the location map, and the latest-posts section — were rebuilt properly using modern, supported tools instead of being propped up by more plugins.

SEO & Interlinking Fixes

Meta descriptions were written for all 12 pages and posts — most of which had none.

The bigger fix was structural: brand pages, all four blog posts and the About page previously linked to nothing else on the site, a real gap for both visitors and search engines trying to understand how the site fit together. A related-links block now runs across all of them. SEO for F&B & distribution businesses.

One post was still sitting on its auto-generated slug, /2247-2/ — nobody was ever going to type, share or rank for that. It’s now /clever-dripper/.

Plugin Cleanup & Security

More than ten unnecessary add-ons came out, including two we flagged as suspected unlicensed copies of paid tools — a real risk to have quietly running on a live business site.

What’s left is a lean, modern toolkit: just what the site needs for speed, security and day-to-day running, nothing more. We also moved the admin login off the default, easily-guessed web address and added protection against repeated break-in attempts.
