Case Study

A trilingual freight platform, not a single-language brochure.

YHS International Logistics is a freight-forwarding company moving cargo from China into Malaysia and Singapore — sea freight, air freight and consolidated parcels for importers buying from Taobao and 1688.

Its services span sea and air freight from China, Taobao/1688 purchase-and-ship consolidation, and delivery into both the Malaysian and Singaporean markets, serving customers who read English, Bahasa Malaysia or Simplified Chinese.

Total Web Solutions rebuilt the website, ran a full technical and keyword SEO audit, and built out new landing pages and guide content — website design for logistics companies and SEO for logistics companies.

The Challenge

Freight forwarding is a trust business before it is a price business — shippers want to know a partner can actually move their cargo on time, in a language they read, before they hand over a shipment.

YHS’s site had the outline of a logistics business but not the substance: search visibility was limited to a handful of pages, Bahasa Malaysia — one of its three core markets — was missing key content, and a set of technical issues (duplicate sitemap URLs, an English-only header on translated pages, mismatched canonical tags) were quietly working against its own SEO.

The site needed to earn trust across three markets and three languages, capture the specific searches shippers actually make — Taobao shipping, sea freight vs air freight, China-to-Malaysia rates — and do it without a single technical crack in the foundation.

Our Strategy

We treated the rebuild as three problems at once: a design system trustworthy enough for a freight business, an SEO structure built around the exact searches shippers make, and complete language parity across the three markets YHS actually serves.

The site runs on WordPress with GreenShift blocks, WPML for English, Bahasa Malaysia and Simplified Chinese, Zynith SEO for technical control, and WP-Optimize to keep it fast — a stack built for a multilingual, content-heavy logistics site rather than a single-language brochure.

We also treated the existing site as something to audit, not just add to: reviewing prior machine-translated pages, retiring an old off-brand post that duplicated newer content, and setting up 301 redirects to preserve its link equity.

Design Direction

The design system carries brand colour, a repeatable article template and consistent card/CTA patterns across every page, so a shipper moving between a service page, a guide post and a landing page never loses the sense they’re on the same site.

Nine new on-brand illustrations, in the site’s navy, blue, teal and orange palette, replaced generic imagery across the pages that needed it — each uploaded with descriptive alt text and set as a featured image.

SEO & Content Structure

The SEO work started with a full technical and keyword audit using live SERP data, then built out five new landing pages around the exact searches shippers make — Taobao & 1688 Shipping, Sea Freight from China, Air Freight from China, China-to-Malaysia Shipping and China-to-Singapore Shipping — each with FAQs, a “How It Works” walkthrough and cross-links into the rest of the site.

Three in-depth guide posts backed those pages up — how to ship Taobao orders, sea freight vs air freight, and how CBM pricing works — published in English and Chinese and interlinked with the landing pages they support. SEO for logistics companies.

Underneath the new content, we fixed what was quietly working against it: a sitemap bug indexing duplicate and wrong-language URLs, a sitewide header stuck in English on non-English pages, unreviewed machine-translated copy, duplicate page headings from a theme conflict, and broken metadata on the blog archive.

Conversion Flow

Every new landing page follows the same path: explain the service, answer the objections shippers actually raise in an FAQ, walk through the process step by step, then point to the next relevant page.

We closed a gap in that flow too — the homepage’s Air Freight service was not actually linking through to its own landing page, a small break that was quietly costing the page both visitors and search equity.
