What we test

Four scores in one website health check

The page speed test runs your page through Google Lighthouse, the same engine behind Google PageSpeed Insights, and gives each area a score from 0 to 100.

Speed

How quickly the page loads and becomes usable, plus the fixes that would save the most time.

Accessibility

Automated checks for colour contrast, image alt text, labels, tap target size and other common barriers.

SEO basics

Title and description tags, crawlable links, indexing and mobile setup that search engines rely on.

Best practices

Security and code health: HTTPS, browser errors, outdated libraries and image aspect ratios.

  • 90–100 Good
  • 50–89 Needs work
  • 0–49 Poor
Core Web Vitals

What are Core Web Vitals?

Core Web Vitals are three measurements Google uses to judge real page experience: how fast the main content loads, how quickly the page responds, and how stable the layout is. A page passes when at least 75% of visits meet each target.

LCPLargest Contentful PaintGood: 2.5 s or less

How long the biggest image or block of text takes to appear. Slow hosting and heavy images are the usual causes.

INPInteraction to Next PaintGood: 200 ms or less

How quickly the page reacts when someone taps or clicks. Too much JavaScript is the usual cause.

CLSCumulative Layout ShiftGood: 0.1 or less

How much the layout jumps while loading. Images without sizes, late fonts and pop-ins are the usual causes.

Are website speed test results accurate? There are two kinds of data. A synthetic (lab) test loads your page once in a controlled browser on a set device and network, which makes results easy to compare and diagnose. Real-user data measures what actual visitors experienced. If your site has enough traffic, the health check shows Core Web Vitals from real Chrome users over the last 28 days; if not, it shows the results of this one test run, which is a good guide but can vary from test to test.

Improve it

How to speed up a WordPress website

To speed up your website, start with the server, then the page itself. Most slow business websites have the same handful of problems, and fixing them makes the biggest difference to your test results and to the user experience.

Fast hosting and caching

A quick server response and page caching (for example LiteSpeed Cache on LiteSpeed hosting) cut load time before anything else.

Lighter images

Resize and compress images, serve WebP, and lazy-load anything below the fold.

Fewer scripts and plugins

Remove unused plugins, delay non-essential scripts and cut render-blocking CSS and JavaScript.

Fonts and layout

Load fewer font files, set image sizes and reserve space for banners so the layout doesn’t jump.

Speed is half the story

A fast site still needs authority to rank: other reputable websites linking to it. See how strong your backlink profile is with our free Domain Rating checker, or browse the top Malaysian websites by Domain Rating.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is this website speed test free?

Yes. Enter any web address and you get speed, accessibility, SEO and best-practice scores at no cost and with no sign-up. The test uses Google’s free PageSpeed Insights data.

Why is my mobile score lower than desktop?

The mobile test simulates a mid-range phone on a slower mobile connection, so heavy images and scripts hurt much more. Most people browse on their phones, so the mobile score is the one to focus on.

What is a good page speed score?

90 to 100 is good, 50 to 89 needs work and below 50 is poor. Don’t chase a perfect 100: passing Core Web Vitals and a fast experience for real visitors matter more than the last few points.

Why do my results change each time I test?

Each test loads your page fresh, so server load, network conditions and third-party scripts such as chat widgets and ads cause small differences. Run the test two or three times and look at the typical result.

Is this the same as an internet speed test?

No. An internet speed test measures your own connection: download and upload speed, latency and jitter. A website speed test measures how fast a website loads in the browser, whatever connection you are on. If every site feels slow, test your internet connection; if only your site is slow, test the website.

Does website speed affect Google rankings?

Yes, but as one signal among many. Google uses Core Web Vitals as part of page experience. Relevant content matters more, but a slow site loses visitors and enquiries even before rankings come into it.

Does the accessibility score mean my site is WCAG compliant?

No. Automated checks catch only some accessibility problems, such as colour contrast and missing labels. Confirming WCAG compliance needs a manual review with a keyboard and screen reader.

Can you fix the issues for me?

Yes. Send us your results and we will give you a free fix plan showing what is slowing your site down and what it would take to fix it. No obligation. Request a free review.
